Acquisition: The Malherbe group takes control of TLW Group in Luxembourg

The Norman transporter Malherbe has finalized its entry into the capital of its Luxembourg counterpart TLW Group. An operation which allows it to consolidate its position at European level.

The Malherbe group, Normandy transport and logistics expert, is consolidating its assets. It acquired the third Luxembourg carrier TLW Group. This transaction, initiated last March, allows it to strengthen its European presence, particularly in Luxembourg, Belgium, Spain and Romania. “ With the integration of TLW and its founder, the Malherbe group is further strengthened by relying on a dynamic, rigorous and committed European leader, by acquiring new complementary know-how and by truly equipping itself with new European transport capacity in its own fleet (with drivers under French or Luxembourg contracts)“, comments Noël Samson, general manager of the Malherbe group.

A new European scope

Concretely, he takes control of a company with more than €60 million in turnover through its ten subsidiaries. For its activity, TLW Group relies on 450 employees and a fleet of 350 vehicles. Before the operation, the Normandy carrier had an annual turnover of 405 million euros. It has a workforce of 2,900 employees and a fleet of 2,200 vehicles. Under the terms of the agreement, the former manager of the Luxembourg carrier Jérémy Windsinger will take on the role of director of international development at Malherbe.

An external growth strategy

The Maherbe group is not its first attempt at external growth. The Normandy carrier had notably taken over the assets of Normatrans (14) in 2022 and Etoile Routière (72) last year in order to consolidate its last mile activity and its agri-food transport respectively.
